Why Trex Is the Right Material at Lake Anna

Lake Anna is harder on outdoor materials than almost anywhere else we build. Reflected UV off the water hits decks from below as well as above. Constant humidity feeds mildew. Heavy summer foot traffic — kids running from the lake, dripping wet, all day — puts moisture on the boards constantly. Pressure-treated wood at the lake fails fast, often within 8 to 10 years. Trex composite with capped polymer surfaces, kiln-dried PT framing, and stainless or hot-dipped galvanized hardware is the only spec we recommend for lakefront builds. The 50-year fade-and-stain warranty on Trex Lineage matters more here than in any inland market.
